I can help with delivery if it is close.

If there is interest I'll get some pics up
well according to the ad.. yes .. brand new never been ran..

did the add say never had oil in it?

"Never been ran" can be inturpreted two ways:

Never turned it over

-or-

Never ran it, as in drove what ever it was in.

Doing prototype work before, I've seen and removed engines that have sat long enough to not look as if there was oil in it, had a scratch on the motor mounts, etc...

btw .... I trust Jim and Bryce too. for the most part.

It looks like it may have come straight out of CTC or a plant to me, you just do not see complete powertrains that have never been installed/ran just laying around at salvage yards. Wish I would have seen it sooner, would be in my garage right now.

Supposedly this is from prototype or engineering mock up work also. The ones you saw that sat around before, what kinds of problems did you see with them? Maybe some possible things I should look into? Dried seals, internal surface rust,...????

Wasn't bought from a salvage yard but I know what you mean.

Now your thinking what I'm thinking.

I doubt that there would be anything wrong, never came across anything serious while at work. But sometimes those assemblies sit around for awhile, possibly on pavement and in a high humidity areas.

It wouldn't hurt opening the valve cover or oil pan to take a peak though ... but, like I said, I doubt there's anything wrong.

My only question is: Why did you puss out and go Hemi? I thought you knew strokers get way more cool points.

you guys are fucking paranoid, it sat for the last 3 years in a perfect climate (65-75 degrees with a/c) until I got it. there is nothing wrong with it and it is brand new with NO OIL, only assembly lube, the previous owner put a few drops of oil in the cylinders and turned it over every few months so I have no worries that it is perfect shape. yes, it was used to create assembly line fixtures and that type of stuff.

if there is any problem with it I will make it right.

It did not come from GM and has never had any affiliation with that company so please dont bring that up as I still like my job and I plan to keep it. I am not going to publicly disclose where I got it from but I can back up everything that I have said. If it really matters to you that much you can pm me and I'll tell you where it came from.

Paranoid would be totally freaking out and asking you to buy it back. It never hurts to "familiarize" yourself with a large purchase like that, which you intend to swap in a expensive toy.

I edited out GM last night, I wasn't thinking and realized that being a hemi it probably wouldn't have come from there and wouldn't matter anyways.

Now reach back and pull you panties back out of your ass.

Did I mention this would be a better rig had it had a 5.0L stroker?

I would probably just load it back up, load up your jeep and haul it in for scrap!!! It's too bad, it was nice until you bought that junk not brand new motor from a dishonest person. (J/K, hahahah)

but yes, very heavy.

I agree, scrap it. You'd probably make close to what you've put in it.

60's and 39.5"s are so yesterday ... If somebody is going to step up it should be Kirby. http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=90568 These would go well with the hemi and 49"s.

I should step up??? This damn rig has already taken over my life!

That is pretty intriguing though! They look pretty stout and you know rear steer is instant HaRdk0r3 status! I thought all Rockwells were top loaders??? So that is pretty cool also.

I know what you mean, but I can't find it in me to stop teasing people for not going bigger.

Actually, your rig is pretty unique as it sits, but I still thing you should scrap the Hemi to build a 5.0L stroker before BDR does.
