Default Nitro SRT-8?

http://jalopnik.com/366857/dodge-nitro-srt8

It honestly has to be someone at Dodge being a prankster.

Then again, jalopnik has probably the stupidest group of people ever on their editing team.

I doubt a V8, more so the hemi, would even fit under one without a whole bunch of firewall and hood mods. probably somebody screwing around. besides, with the dismal sales of the SRT8 grand, I doubt they'd try a second round right now with a sport suv.

First off, there is plenty of room under the hood of a Nitro for a Hemi, seen it.

Second, Chrysler sells every last one of the WK SRT-8's, no rebates, no discounts. They also make a ton of money off them in Eurupe.

I think it would be sweet to have a 6.1 in a Nitro, it's lighter then a WK! Lighter means FASTER!

I highly doubt that Dodge would put a V8 in a Nitro(however cool it would be). If they were too, both me and my dad would buy 1 in a heartbeat. If that was supposed to be an SRT variant it sure didn't look like any Ive seen before. Could be just a vehicle to peek peoples curiosity in the SRT/Dodge line

Isn't the nitro and the liberty the same drivetrain? if so, I don't see a hemi fitting. I've been wrong before though. as for selling the SRT8 Grands, I've spoke to two dealers who had trouble selling them. That is by no means a scientific study though...

I would love to help them out with that problem if it was one. They seem to sell at a premium.

No shit, I wanted to buy one BAD but you can't get one with a hitch from the factory because of where the stupid exhaust outlets are, so I gave up on the idea.

I still want one though.

IIRC the Nitro will be phased out pretty quickly.

They had one in the lobby of CTC a few months back that had a Hemi in it. I think it was one of the cars they built for this years SEMA show.

There is someone that lives by me driving an SRT WK. I mean it must be an SRT even though it has a V6, the stock rims, no ground effects, and no engine, but it has the badge on the back of it, so it must be true.

well it does have a manufacterers plate on it, so it could be a possibility, but highly doubt it.

Sure.

If you think it doesn't exist, you're retarded. It was at IAC yesterday afternoon.

This is not going into production but there is at least 1 Nitro with a 6.1 hemi in it.

if there is a 6.1 nitro, I would love to drive it. I hope the suspension is up to the task though. then again, leave it stock looking and then line up agaisnt high end sports cars and smoke em. talk about good times...
