Well then have fun selling it. I won't be getting the ticket.

These do go 51mph for those who are interested and with some mods will hit 55-60mph although it is strictly not recommended on those non DOT tires and lap belts. They make several kits to convert them over for street use with tires, and full shoulder belts.

sounds like a nice UTV, not trying to hamper your sale, just trying to be informed. not sure if a UTV is catagorized as an atv or not but this is from the Michigan.gov website

http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,1607,7...594--F,00.html

Can a three- or four-wheel, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) be upgraded for on-road use?

Answer:
Three- and four-wheel all-terrain vehicles (ATV) cannot be upgraded for on-road use. ATV's are manufactured with a live axle, rather than a differential gear, which seriously affects their handling characteristics when operated on paved surfaces.

They do not have a live axle as described in your post. They have an actual differential and therfore fit into a loophole allowing some uts to be plated for road use. There were 5 guys at silver lake that had all their rhinos legal. They had dot tires, ect and plates. Nice ranger by the way.

I am actually surprised that they were able to make the Rhino's legal, I had one but with the with the type of rear axle it is costly to truly make it legal. If you go to the SOS they have a book that mentions the Polaris Ranger as being a vehicle that can be made legal it has its own catagory its not considered a three or four wheeler it classified as a utv by the SOS.
I did mine because of the sub I live in the assoc yuppies were sending me letters for riding a non titled vehicle on our streets, they now can do nothing about me it and I am loving it.

I also have a second set of Polaris wheels and tires that have never been used I put them on for the picture here. I also have a set of DOT tires and wheels that I can sell for $500.00 to the buyer of the Ranger. The reason I am selling is I have a Early Bronco that I want to buy. http://http://i58.photobucket.com/al...1/103_0856.jpg
