Default Battery

I need a battery for my Ranger. Looking for something with 700 + CCA, top or side post, and + on the left and - on the right. Must be good enough to use on a DD. I cant afford a new battery right now so just looking for something cheaper than new!

Pm EngineCraft and see if he has anymore of those red top Optima's. He had a really good price on them.

If not, try Discount Battery off of Dixie Hwy and Scott Lake road. (next to Mr. Muffler). I picked up a cheap battery yesterday for my blazer ($35 + tax out the door).

Is 650 cca sufficient to crank a 302 over? Has a big starter on it.

in the summer it doesnt matter as much...It's when it's below freezing that 's when most acid batteries start to fail...becouse they drop off ,almost half the rated CCA..

So 650 in the spring is plenty..

.but I always build up my stff too much...I run 3 batteries..all optima's ( have had ...ok ..luck with them so far...have had problems with others in the past...)

But since your a young man on a budget....go for what you can get, cheap..
With gas prices rising....a battery should be the last thing you worry about :tonka:

General rule of thumb is 1 CCA per CI. Personally I run the biggest battery I can fit under the hood.

And a used battery is not something you generally want to run...bit too risky for my blood. As mentioned...go to walmart and get the cheapest battery you're comfortable with.
