Default Fuel Cell Tech please

I am fuel cell stupid.

I want a fuel cell that is fairly compact 12-15 gallons, still be able to mount up a single backseat for the munchkin.

More importantly I need to understand the wiring, pumps, lines etc.

Current fuel tank is 94 yj with 4.0.

besides the cell, do I need a new pump? can I just re-route my factory lines? etc?

Thanks

way to clutter up the tech section with your useless dribblings. Gawd, you sure know how to screw up a good thing. I can't wait for the day that CC finally bans your mall crawlin poser ass.

answer the ?, because some of us are interested in the tech and might need fuel cell info in the future

Put "RCI 2161A" into google or pirate4x4. There are other options, but that is one easy way to do what you want.

I saw that one in summit last night, the questions is hooking it up, fuel pumps, etc.

Do I just take the YJ pump out of the tank and it just drops in? Or do I need to purchase additional stuff to make it work?

What about lines? Do most people just re-use the stock stuff or do you run all new lines up to the motor?

I found this with google in < 5 minutes.

this is what worked for my yj... i was on a budget and decided not to "Waste" the money on ss fuel lines and all that snazzy stuff

rci 2161a (sometimes referred to as just rci 2161) from summit racing or ebay

e2000 fuel pump from advance auto parts... $75 or so will work for you. i went with a lower pressure pump b/c i only needed 14 psi of fuel pressure but the e2000 will work great for you. that's a motorcraft (sp?) part number but it can be cross referenced.

get a -8 to -6 AN reducer for your feed

get a -8 to -4 AN reducer for return

get a 90 degree -6AN barbed fittings from summit, summit brand

get a 90 degree -4AN barbed fitting from summit, summit brand

i'd suggest some sort of multi point fuel pickups if you plan to wheel when low on fuel.... i went with some from http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/ the cell has a pickup tube near the center that extends straight down and about 1" off the bottom of the cell. i cut mine witha small hacksaw so i could use hose clamps and fuel injection hose to hookup my multi-point fuel pickups... which i honestly think i wasted my money on since i never wheel or drive when low on fuel....

use fuel injection hose from advance auto or wherever to hook it all up.... 3/8" feed, 5/16" return

some hose clamps

good idea to have pump mounted as low as possible and put loops in the fuel line before and after the pump..... these loops will essentially keep the pump primed so you don't need to buy a high volume low pressure "primer" pump in addition to the e2000....

do whatever you want for the vent... just be sure it's effective and is somewhere that water won't get into it and where it's out of harms way.
