I had this friend who was big into D&D, real dork...a few of us would go over to his house saying we we going to play a game....

but his dad had this great stash of playboys in the basement that we would look at instead.

Melinda still plays D&D, and also plays WOW. Don't think she has trading cards though.

Never played pen and paper D&D, but I've played various trading card games, as well as Neverwinter Nights and Star Was: Knights of the Old Republic which use the D&D rulesets.

A buddy of mine plays occasionally, so I'm gonna try and get him to DM for me and a few others.

I started in about 1983 or so, 6th grade and junior high, then stopped, got back into it in college, then stopped, back into it with 3rd gen rules, sold all my stuff about 2 years ago on e-bay. Some original first edition stuff, got a good price for them.

I've got the nerd crown for you. I'm actually published in a D&D-related book, one of the open-source ones.

I still have all my ad&d shit packed away somewhere. The internet pretty much killed all the pen and paper games. Neverwinter Nights can be pretty interesting, I just don't have the time to play it anymore.

AD&D rules version 3 killed all the shit I have. Still useful for them DM's that refuse to use the new rules though. I think the 2nd edition rules were far superior.

holy shit, I never expected that many people to be into this shit....

I also have no idea how to play any of it, but I remember huge groups of kids sitting in the library at lunch time with these funny cards and such
