you are also basing the need for bypasses on the traction available in the winter, have you been in there during the non frozen months?

I was joking about paint. I don't care about damage either.

Theres some great hill climbs back there that just aren't possible because of trees being spaced only 5'-6' apart.

With removing a tree here or there, it would open up some sweet new climbs/ravines, and probably increase the chance of body damage.

I know.

If they're not dead trees and can't be "pursaded" to one side or another I would wait. Let's gets some rocks in there first before jumping the gun on "cutting" in new trails. Just my .02.

Two things with the county you have to remember, 1, they don't want the liability if someone gets hurt with one, and 2, they have county workers who's job it's 'suppose' to be to maintain the park. Don't beat me up on #2. The Mounds Advisory Board will be meeting sometime before spring. I will bring up the trail cleaning again and see it there is any wiggle room for certified operators. I did get it cleared for a chipper to be dragged along the trail so we don't have to try and pitch the trees off to the side. This would allow us to simply leave the chips right in the trail. That would also help with erosion a bit.

This is a good idea here.

I like the trees, but if any of the larger ones are ever cut down they should be left 12" tall to act as stationary obstacles and keep the quads from turning it into a racetrack. Varying height stumps through a thick woods with the logs strewn inbetween makes for a difficult trail, fast.

I'd come help. There are a bunch of billy goat trails back there that wouldn't take much work to open up for full size users. Stuff hangs low, the quads and bikes aren't using them either.
