Default Detroit Messicantown Restaurant Patrons

Starting tomorrow, I75 will be pooched from Rosa Parks to Clark St for the next two years. Getting to Mexicantown for margaritas, gang fights, and breathtaking views of the Hotel Yorba will be rather tricky if you're not familiar with the surface streets.

Navigating the area can be interesting or terrifying depending on your outlook. Will the construction project deter you from dining in Mexicantown, or are you savvy and determined enough to find your way to epicurean bliss?

I gave up on Mexican town after finding Taqueria MiTierra at Shaefer and Oakwood. Authentic Mexican...even the outside looks like shit...just like Mexico.

Easy enough to get to from Michigan Ave. Nothing will deter us from our monthly fix of Xochimilco's

That is how I found a good mex restaurant in the outskirts of Mt Clemans

What sucks on a side note I have a delivery just past mex town on Clark. So I need to find away around that still.

Which Mexicantown joint did MiTerra lure you from, and how does the food, chips, salsa, and margaritas compare?

Taqueria Lupita. Pretty much identical food, but much closer to work. No Margaritas. Real Mexicans don't drink Margaritas. That was created by Americans. Real Mexicans sip quality Tequilla with a side of Sangrita.

This is another reason why I took a job in Ann Arbor. That would have ruined my commute.

Are you crazy? I thought that place had the shittiest food ever. Sure it is real Mexico in there, but the few times i went there was horrible. I got the beef head in a burrito and I was picking cartilage out of it.

My vote is for Mi Pueblo. It is only about 4 minutes down the road from that place. Better than xochi's too.
