Default My friends 6 yr old died of cancer last night.....

A former co-worker and good friend of mine's daughter has been fighting lukemia (sp) for approximately 3 years now. McKenzie was right around 6 yrs old. She has been in and out of the hospital for the last 3 years and mostly in the hospital for the last year and a half. She was one tough cookie and fought very hard and very valiently. She never complained of being sick, she played soccer when she could with the other kids and was actually pretty good. She definately had a big tough heart and fought very admirably. She has gone through multiple surgeries and finally lost her battle last night in her mother's arms.

RIP.

I can't imagine either.

A parent should never have to bury their child.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with them.

prayers for their family.

I don't get why good, innocent people/families have to deal with tragedy like this...

Hope all of you are counting your blessings and telling those close to you that you love them, as often as possible.

having lived it with the loss of the very young son of some very close neighbors, as well as the loss of my very young nephew I can tell you that I spent more than a little bit of time crying, shouting, and pleading that same question.

there are a number of books on the subject which provide some distraction but for some never really a true answer.

my sincerest sympathies to the friends and family of your friend Chad.
