BTW, there are plans for a big group from another site to go up there for a run in a few weeks. PLEASE be careful. We are all under a microscope right now.

Im planning a trip up there in july with another jeep or two as I have for the past two years. Im definitly going to be very careful of what I do and where I go. Drummond is my favorite place to four wheel and I would hate to see the trails closed. I always tread lightly but this year im going to avoid marble head and shale beach, I just hope we can get the trails designated as orv routes soon, including marble head.

I didn't clarify if it was the album or the page.

I think I'm getting there.
You may have already noticed me making fewer posts.
The darn family is pretty insistent that I spend time with them too!

Word games...all the law is is words. If the words aren't clear, then the law can be beat or changed. It's the main reason laws are 4 million paragraphs long to attempt to make it crystal clear.

I have been at several GLFWDA meetings where this particular law was discussed and the need for it to be clarified, or reworded so it isn't so unclear.

I don't remember anyone, including you, at any of the meetings every say "It's crystal clear." I am confused as to why all of a sudden it seems clear. It hasn't changed.

I am in charge of the run that is going on in a few months.

I am well aware of everything that is going on with the island, and everything that has gone on for the past 4-5 years or so. Having a second home on the island makes all this stuff really hit hard on me, so this is something that I take VERY seriously. I am well aware of the do/don't of the island, the DNR, and the places we are allowed to be. Rest assured, no problem will arise from ANYONE engaging or associating with this run.

Tim, here's my point. We all know the "intent" of the law the way it was written. We can play word games and all that will happen is the wording will get clarified. What needs to change is not an arguement of the exact description but rather the "intent" of the law.

I didn't realize we were playing Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise about describing "crystal clear". The need for it to be clarified is that some CO's consider grandpa in his F250 going deer hunting and slogging through a mud puddle or sandy wash to be OK. But let you or me drive through it with our jeep and it's not. So, Joe-consumer-newbie doesn't know when he can or can not use his 4wd.

There's nothing vague about the words "conventional 2wd".

Well, first thing to check is to see if it is in GM's fleet (doubt it). From there, other things can happen. :tonka:

not to be a dick, and I certainly don't agree with some of the wheeling in the video but i have noticed a lot of talk about TREAD LIGHTLY on the site and others and we are all quick to grill others when we notice something they are doing wrong but ask your self this, are you pulling cable the first time you lose foward momentum and break traction on that slick uphill climb? probably not and those nice mt/r's are not treading very lightly as the try to regain traction. how about when you are running with a group of trucks out on a nice trail run and you go through a little muddy spot on the trail and you think it would be "fun" to just spin the wheels and throw a little mud at the guy behind you, i know we have all done that! that isn't treading lightly either. i guess what i am trying to say is most all of us have "illegally" wheeled or not followed tread lightly rules but we all want to be the one to throw the first stone when it comes down to seeing something one doesn't think is right. if that was the case then we should all be in trouble for one thing or the other. put your time and griping to use and organize some trail ride or get together to educate up and coming wheelers.
