Default Which wheels to get

Ill soon be upgrading the axles in my TJ. Gone will be the locked dana 30/44 and in its place will go a 44/60 hybrid front, and a Rockcrusher SF HP60 rear. Both axles are going to be a 5x5.5 bolt pattern, so my Walker Evans fake locks gotta go. I eventually will buy another set of Walker Evans beadlocks, but that wont be anytime soon. In the mean time im looking for a nice set of 17" aluminum or steel wheels, that arnt too expensive(looking for wheels under $180 each).

I stumbled across these on 4wheelparts website and kinda like them cause there a buy 2 get 2 free and have free shipping, http://www.4wheelparts.com/partLists...5375&w=2515-25
These also look good, just not the color, http://www.4wheelparts.com/partLists...5994&w=2515-25
Any one have any other suggestions on what i should get?

Clearance? Some people don't break 44 or 60 ring and pinions?

true but if thats the case why not a regular 44. i would think its cheaper and easier to build a 44 than make a hybrid axle that would be the same strength.

I agree, unless you have time to waste and a shop at your disposal.

If I found a set of outers I would entertain the idea of a hybrid. Just because stock 60 shafts would be stronger than alloy 44 shafts and ball joints suck ass.

But I don't see a reason to chop up a good front 60. If people are worried about clearance they can just shave it, or deal with it.

i ended up buying these wheels. Couldnt beat the price, the cheapest plain black 17" steel wheels actually cost more then these. I couldnt pass up free shipping and 4 wheels for the price of 2.

Your right, good deal. Too pretty for my taste but if they were cheaper than steel, who can argue.

They claim its a forged wheel, so what would it cost to have alum beadlock rings welded to them right now, while they are still clean and straight?

thats a good idea that i didnt think about. If i was to go that route any advice on who to have the conversion done by? I did a search and saw ballistic fab makes a weld on conversion set for about $200 a wheel without welding. Im wondering is it would be an easier to send the wheels out to chapion or Beadlock Specialties? Any one do this before?
