Even though Michigan will be my home, I plan on getting the F out in about 1.5 years, or when im out of college. With my mechanical engineering degree i wanna work for either a heavy equipment company or for a company that makes aftermarket products for vehicles. Wanna go down south, to Texas, south west anywhere but California.

your job may not be, but the selling of your house is. there are 33 homes for sale in 4 city blocks up here, most been for sale almost 2 years now. Eventually we'll move to AZ as well.

I drive thru Iowa often and never noticed this, especially not enough that you would ever need a lifted jeep to get around. :tonka:

Major highways are usually pretty good except covered in ice. the streets are pretty bad though. Cedar rapids schools were only sending buses on hard surface routes yesterday. Most gravel roads are still digging out and we haven't had snow in a couple of days. I know people over here that can only get out gravel roads out here with tractors because the roads are so bad.

edit:

I took this picture on US151 outside of Dubuque IA where I saw about 6 cars in the ditch. this was the cleanest patch of pavement I saw all day.
