Default quick d44 question

if got a half ton d44 front axle under the rig right now and am swappin over to a 3/4 ton here shortly. the 1/2 ton has a passanger side flat top knuckle that i want to use on the 3/4 ton. all i need to do is strip everything off the knuckle and bolt the 8 lug stuff back on. is that it? i believe so but i just want to double check before i waste my time.

you will most likely need to change spindles.

You didn't state what any of the D44s came out of, or what other one you are swapping in, so I can't help any more.

Be more specific before you end up with a large pain in the ass and incompatible parts

yea sorry, the axles are out of late 70s mid 80s chevy trucks, i dont know what years as i havent checked the bom numbers. the axles are/are going under an 88 chevy p/u. the half tons are under there and im swapping the 3/4 ton under there soon. when i said strip down the knuckle i meant hub, bearings, spindle etc.

Then don't post as your info is wrong, everything will swap.

Scout=8 bolt spindle
Chevy/Jeep= 6 bolt spindle
Ford= 5 bolt spindle (90% of them, early drum brakes stuff was 6 bolt)
