He could have saved himself a lot of trouble if he use Amsoil and a bypass oil filter system.

the thing he doesn't tell you is how many engines or transmissions he's been through. if thats truly the original drivetrain i'm impressed. the longest mileage record i know of for an original chevy truck is 300,000. it was an 86 chevy K10 a friend owned for his scrap truck at the wrecking yard. had original 350 700r4 and axles.

One of the Mechanics at my dads shop used to have an Eagle Wagon with a hair over 500K on it, and it had never had the head off.

LOL @ teh 225. I had one in a 81 4WD pickup that I couldn't kill. I think top engine speed was limited by valve float. :tonka:

I tried for two years to kill that engine so I could swap in a V8. My bro-in-law still drives that truck with the same engine in it.

there's a guy down in indianapolis who makes daily trips in his 7.3l powered 2000 (i think, could be a different year) f350 dually to chicago and back, mostly while towing. last i knew, he had a bit under 1,200,000 miles on his truck and that was few months ago. no engine/trans/axle repairs. once a week he gets the oil changed.
