Need Dana 44 Work: Best West Mi Shops?

In a non-jeep application, I have a DANA 44 rear end with a 3.54 posi, want to change out to a 2.88 gear (now turning 3500 at 70).

Can anybody out there recommend a good person or shop in West Michigan to do the work at a fair price (I'm in Grand Rapids... but anywhere within a hours drive is fine)?

I'll pull the axle out of the car, and already have the 2.88 gear set.

It's a "Sunbeam Tiger" made in England in the mid '60's. They took a "Sunbeam Alpine" 2-seat sports car with a peanut 4-cylinder and dropped a small block Ford in it, called it the "Sunbeam Tiger." I've owned the car since 1979, took me almost 20 years to restore it. Did all the work myself except paint. Has a 5.0 Ford in it now. Trans is the original "toploader" Ford 4-speed (like used in early Mustangs) so 4th is 1:1. Problem: only 14" wheels, so tire is only 23.7" in diameter. Going to the 2.88 will bring her down to 2800 RPM in 4th... still high by today's standards, but better than 3500. They used DANA 44's in all of the Tigers.

Pic of the car..

Thanks!

Bill

Wow. What's the application and what's the ratio of the transmission's top gear?
