How do they tell though? Do they allow sanding? If so, how do you tell the difference between sanding and truing?

x2.. Kind of like the new youth soccer leagues. When Team A is winning, they will pull one Team A player to make it "equal" In clarkston, If team a is up by more then 3, they lose their goalie.

If sanding isn't allowed thats just not right.

Of course I've got like 3 1st place and a 2nd place pinewood derby trophy.

Sand the wheels true, slim line it everywhere, lacquer paint to cut through the air

You are not allowed to modify the wheels or the axles, except to remove the mold tab.

They will disqualify you if they see any sanding marks.

Weight is still legal, graphite is not, in the AWANA rules. But you can use a special type of oil sold at hobby shops.

we would stick the wheel in a drill and use sand paper to make the tire form a shape like the bottom of this letter U but that dick son of the scout master ALWAYS won

alright, I get it now and if you look at it this way it sort of makes sense.

Disallowing modification of the wheels and axles slows the races down making wins clearer in a sense. It also ensures equality of the component. You can still fukc up the installation.

Much like Nascar in such that race teams do not get their tires for the race until that weekend, Restrictor plates, and fuel.
