Default my post was deleted, what a crock

Guy comes out in his for sale thread and asks why he has not had interest in his truck. comes right out and asks. I answer with an honest answer, and he explains.

Both threads deleted, and I got a 'warning'

Mods need to relax a little.

Sorry. The marketplace is kept extremely clean, and if somebody reported the post as "bashing seller" then it would have probably have been removed quickly. I will go restore the posts if you can provide me to the tread.

Honestly, I probably would have deleted it also if it were my decision. Even if the Seller comes right out and asks, I still never liked to allow information harmful to the sale of the item in Marketplace Threads when I was doing the job.

If you were being straight-up about it, that's fine and I wouldn't consider it to be malicious. However, the better way to have gone about it would probably have been to have sent him a PM with your opinion.

I'm not saying don't tell them if they ask. I'm saying be white about it instead of being Hosejockey. Its shitty, not in the Seller's best interest, and completely tactless to dump something like that right into the thread. When you do that, nobody will then want to pay anything for it - even someone that might come along thinking that the listed price is reasonable until they get to that post.

actually i think adam took care of it a couple times. i still think if someone is gonna over price a item and ask why its not selling you should be able to tell them.

I couldnt agree more, why should someone be able to try and rip someone off even though many people know what it's market value really is.....

I agree to a point, but if something is over priced it is not going to sell.

If someone over pays that's their own fault.

Because that was never the situation and whether they sell their item is not your problem - that's why. If someone buys at a price you feel is unacceptable, its quite possible that:
  1. The Seller may not understand what a realistic asking price really is.
  2. The Buyer may not understand what a realistic asking price really is.
  3. The item may not be worth the asking price to you, but its worth the asking price to someone else. That is not "overpayment".
  4. You simply can't afford it or are not willing to pay the asking price - neither of which mean its "overpriced". Its just priced too high for you.

I'm really surprised at some of the replies in this thread. You guys are twisting the actual events around to make yourselves feel better about your opinions.

As for this:

Again, I never said you shouldn't. However, there is a right and a wrong way to go about doing it (or white and non-white if you prefer).

If its overpriced, then don't buy it. And if you leave stupid comments about the item, then it will be deleted.

Whats the big deal?

I agree with everyone. Guy was selling a truck. Been on here for a while and he came out and asked something like... "What, no offers? What wrong?"

I was very polite and explained. I even came right out in the post and said, "I am only posting this because you asked."

He even answered me back with an answer to my answer. And I think all was good.

Then the three posts were deleted and I got a warning.

I totally agree not to post anything but questions in someone's for sale add. Unless they ask why their item is not selling.

No need to put it back up... all is good on my part.
