Wow! That happened only twice when I went there. It definitely must be cold. :tonka:

Only the second time it's closed in the 4 years I've been here. There's not even that much snow out, must be really cool. I think I'll just stay inside today.

Teh Crapids is shut down as well (Ferris)....first time in the 4 years I've been here they've canceled class for an entire day.

We have about 6" of snow, but with the wind you can't really see.....

Oh, and it's roughly -25* with the wind chill. I'm sure all the MTU people will say "you're not hard core, our windchill was -273*C and we still went swimming in the lake", but it's mighty F'n cold IMO

Never closed while I was there, 00-04, had a couple "winter advisory" days but classes were only optional. Some prof's still held them some said don't bother coming.

Pussies. A few weeks back it was -25 without the windchill at my parents house. Had to walk to school, uphill both ways.

Oh and that 0K day was without the windchill.

Oh well, I'm going to go get some food on my day off.

My ex girlfriend went to U of M and she told me that the school closed once for the weather but then some law student sued the school because he was paying for his education and could not go and he won. So they do not cancel class anymore.

I hope that law student got an A for the class. Then an ass whoopin.

I'd sue the law student for putting everyone at an unnecessary risk in poor weather

That's why at Tech they made classes "optional" when the weather was bad.

I walked to class in -35 to -45 windchill up at NMU once. It was cold.

I don't think your a pussy, I think anything below 20* with any wind is cold and there really isn't much difference. If you can feel the difference between 0 and -35 more power to you, either way its too fuckin cold.

I don't think they canceled class up here because of the temperature, I think it was more less because the roads are still covered in ice, and at times there are white out conditions...

The other day when I was driving home, I stopped at the grocery store on the way. It wasn't snowing bad at all when I went in. Go in there for about 10 minutes, come out, can't see shit, visibility was HORRIBLE. Get back to my apartment (after coming around a corner to find some middle aged lady driving towards me in MY lane :miff:, if she wouldn't have had her headlights on I would have hit her), a few minutes later it clears back up.

Pretty sure they were trying to kill me, but I can't prove it.

Oh and today I was all set to go in and drop my Operations Management class. Guess I'll have to do that tomorrow :tonka:
