Ford Escort = P.O.S.? what? My wife has one and the only problem so far (in 3 years) is a Tie rod, and A pin whole leak in one of the Tranny Lines. It also gets about 30 MPG. But maybe we're just lucky. Wish I had a Bonneville, Those things rock.

You know.. for some reason I've been thinking about this whole accident alot today... first things first, we all did stupid sh1t when we were 18. 500hp or not.... Luckily Darwin didn't catch up to me (or you) and looking back, there were times when he might have been within arm's reach.

Second - I kinda give this kid credit for trying to do his screwing around on a vacant runway. There's a little bit of forethough in that. There was recently a thread on here (GL4x4 outlaws I think) were we were all talking about how fast we've driven - most of us on public roads. Getting yourself on an airstrip to f-around exhibits more brains then I had rolling in a full sized blazer at 90mph on a two lane road.

Finally.. when I picture the probable conditions at the time of the wreck, I can totally see how easily it would have been to do... North of 100mph your eating up asphalt quick. In the middle of the night it probably would have been difficult to tell you were actually approaching the end of the runway - especially considering the end of the runway was a drop off..

anyway.. I have no idea why I gave this as much thought as I did.. for some reason, I actually think this kid was smarter then most...
