the most ironic post from the M5 board imo
Quote:
M5froth I completley understand where you are coming from assuming that I am irresponsible..that is definetly understandable. I do sometimes make bad decisions but I am young and I do drive safe and I will not endanger the lives of others..and I hope you are not under the impression that I am the one to brag, I have never been that way and never will. Plus I will have pictures up asap with me in the pictures. I have no reason to lie buddy.

You have an 08' M5 and an 08' 5 series? And youre 18? I don't really know anyone, age aside, that would own these two cars simultaneously. I'm not saying I care what you own, but its just disturbing to know, if you're for real, that an 18 year old who is asking these questions about a 500hp car is driving the same streets I am. I don't have anything against young guys driving nice cars, but an 18 year old behind the wheel of an M5 is what accidents are made of IMO. Then again you could be making all of this up.

Kind of a premonition from their board. Remember being a kid, thinking you were bulletproof. I think this is a lesson for us as parents, as well.

first of all....how the hell did he get on the airport without anyone knowing.....second.....runways aren't built for speed......they are built to slow the planes down and for heavy loads hitting them.......1 of the reasons why they are grooved

i don't think i could drive a BMW, to many f'king options with the computer.

i always thought traction control and hp we're adjusted with your right foot.
If upshifting at 140 is making a loud clunk, be easier on the clutch

That sucks for the kids and their families. No way should an 18 year old EVER have an M5 or any other performance type car. That just makes them want to show off to their friends and then everybody winds up dead. Do you think the same thing would have happened if his parents had made him drive a 94 Tercel until they knew he was responsible enough to drive a nice car?

I believe it was a private runway behind a wealthy neighborhood.

I think you are all missing the real point here.

We need to ban runways. Runways kill people.

You think an 18 year old with an M5 is bad. 2 kids at my old High school drove Ferrari's and Lamborghini almost as daily drivers. But obviously they also has BMW and Mercedes SUV's for "bad weather." And I'm being dead serious. I'm surprised they're both still alive.

It probably had the SMG with paddle shifters and an auto clutch.

I remember when I first got my WRX the first year they came out. There were a lot of rich, beginiing driver kids conning their parents into getting them one. In turn my insurance went up (it was fairly cheap the first couple years) because a good chunk of them didn't know how to drive well yet and wrecked them. A kid should learn to drive with something bawsic until their skills are up to par.

My boy has an 83 Dodge van I got for $200...mechanically fine, but rusted to hell.....he can't even drive that until he gets a job to pay for gas and insurance. If he wants to drive now, he drives Mom's Tracker....with her in it.......

My first car was a 67 Chevy Biscayne, 6/three on the tree......got in enough trouble with that....

I had to put up with a couple years learning to drive my Dad's '78 Chevy cargo van; 3-on-the-tree with a very under-powered straight 6 and nothig power. After I saved up, I got a '74 Chevelle but it took me a couple years.
