Default So whats the deal with taxes???

i just recieved my W2's
ive been hearing that the everyone is getting a extra $800 back for taxes or if your married you get $1,200 extra back
i am also hearing to wait a couple of weeks before i do my taxes because of some new tax law that is not in effect yet.


whats true and whats not??????????
should i wait to do my taxes or just do it now??????????

The extra isn't surposed to be mailed out til in May or later and I tried to do my taxes on H&R block and have to wait to send them because of the child tax credit....

Yeah, that rebate won't be until May or June. It has nothing to do with your regular tax return, so file as usual. It is going to be $600 per working adult and $300 per eligible dependant child.

I also heard it is 300 Per child on the news. Too bad I don't have any kids. At least I get 600!

i heard 300 per child, but I also heard that the rebate will be 300 to 1200 per adult, they haven't set the amount yet!

i am pissed i went down and filed and in 07 i put 3 times the amount into federal compared to what i did in 06 and am walking out with $20 less.
claming 0 both years

oh and i get a whopping $7 from detroit. (i wasnt expecting much from them anyways)
