Default More computer help...

I got my laptop worked on by the g33k squad w/ the warranty that came with my laptop, they replaced the video card. My problem is that two days ago I updated three programs... turned my computer on yesterday... all the updates were gone so I went through the entire process only to have the same thing happen again when I turned my laptop back on.

Ever since I got my laptop back, every time I shut it down, it says there is an update to be installed. What is happening? thanks.

Have you tried not applying the updates, then doing a full shutdown, starting back up, THEN applying the updates? Then, after the updates are applied, shut down and reboot again, see what happens.

Windows updates? Antivirus updates? Java updates? Flash updates? What are you talking about here?

I manually updated windows, AOL, firefox and downloaded a program. When I booted it back up all were gone, I did this twice.

I have had the computer back for about a month, every time I have shut it down since I got it back it says there is an update to be installed in the log off screen.

I tried what you said schweeb w/ one update and no luck.

What is the best way to clean everything off the hard drive and reload XP and importing all my files?
