Can I go if I swap some Power Cats on? I found a set chained to a tree, but the lock was so rusted it broke off...

And the group broke 4 axle shafts total. This time there will literally 4 times as much snow or more.

One of the people on that run last year only has a Samurai on 35s right now and he specifically said he would pass up running it on this trip as to not hold up the group. So yeah could you drag something smaller though probably. But it sure as hell isn't fair for a group to be waiting and taking away from wheeling time so somebody on 35s can winch though to try and prove something. I love to see people with smaller or even stock rigs push the limits of their rigs and beyond, usually I am the one convincing somebody to try something harder than what everyone thinks is possible and spotting them through, but this isn't the place, as I promise even the rigs on 40s and above will have some seriously hard work and some time on this run.

Couldn't agree more.
Having someone with a stock or near stock jeep insist on following bigger rigs on a run just screws everyone in the group.

Hey Matt! Sounds like fun I'd love to go!

If I have 40" swampers that only measure 35", does that count?

Lothos, as someone who organized a few snow runs in the UP I can assure you that detr6oit is off to the right track and you dont have a fucking clue.

seriously, you dont.

I have plowed snow with my bumper on 35x15.5's floating on top of the snow for miles, the minute you fall in you are fucked, add to that difficult trails (I was often on simple seasonal roads) and 33-35's get you no where, no matter the lockers, etc.

As for some of the areas detr6oit is talking about, I have been there during this time of year. Chest deep is not uncommon, winching all day on 35's is not uncommon. Stuck on 40's in not uncommon.

In January of 02 I think it was i organized a run, some members from here attended. If they remember we made it approximately 1/2 mile on the fresh trails, in 12 hours. We ended up 3 miles short of our destination and had to turn back.

In March/Feb of the year prior Ironman may remember me looking for some help as a friends jeep was stuck on the trails in the UP and no one could get to him, including my at the time pretty built TJ, a friends bronco locked front and rear on 38's and a toyota mini truck with marlin crawlers on 42's. You see two failry built tj's on 33's and 35's headed out, then a foot and a half more snow fell after we had to leave his jeep in the woods. the next day no one could get to him.

We ended up hand hoveling nearly 1/2 mile of trail out to get him to pavement.

However lothos I think you are right, you can go where matt is speaking of on your 33 truxes that cant seem to stay on the rim.

stfu when you have no clue.

Lots of hidden rocks, Logs, Frozen Ruts of mud, etc.

There are some seriously nasty trails in the marquette/barage county areas as well as the keewanaw, cover them with snow, be hammering down on top off the snow and catch a rock you diodnt see, kaboom.

Unfortunately I do not have some of the other pics, these are 5 years old.

These pics are in a DEFINATE 2wd area in the summer, we eidnt even make ti to the 4wd section of trail.

It took us the whole day to get here and decide to turn around.

Had we continued we would ahve never made it. Most rigs were on 35-33 inch tires.
