Default new tow rig

Since I don't wheel anymore, I decided to buy a diesel truck for some street cred. It's a Bones special.

1989 F-250 with 7.3 IDI, manual and 4x4. It isn't too fast, but it should get the job done. I really wish a previous owner could have left the factory gearing in it. Right now I've got 4.56s in there and it doesn't like to run faster than 60. I think I need to change that.

I've got the Toyota in the garage now, so maybe I'll get started on my complete drivetrain swap in the next few weeks. Then I'll have something worth towing.

Is it a turbo? I drove a 94ish ford once, non turbo. It was a turd and maxed out at 60mph.

It's a non-turbo, but it was cheap. Mine will go 75 mph, but it's sucking fuel then.

You can put a turbo on it.

By the way the pictures look I think you may need some cab mounts. Or your bed is on a lift of some sort.

Oh and for some more power crank up the fuel pump.

I know I can turbo it, but I don't think it's a wise investment.
