Outside the redneck insults and insider politics I'm not privvy to, (get it? Privvy? :tonka: ) I appreciate that they opened up their property and accepted the risks for as long as they did. Marv and Sue are good people even if I don't agree with their political and economic views. Wish I had make it to one of the earlier Gigs before they got huge and the politics took over.

You can take this and spin it any way you want, does not matter to me.

I was informed before the '07 Pig Gig that it would be the last one at Marv and Sue's property. Reason given was the size of the event. Was just getting too big for the property.

Plain, simple, and quite honestly, the truth.

X2, but no one wants to believe the truth. I think a version of the truth is being made up along the way. :tonka:

who the fukc cares?

Grandman is not hosting it anymore, great, thanks for having it. It was clearly a nice event for some time, you did a great job. It will be somewhere else now. Hosted by someone else. Great, I am sure they will do a great job. Now shut the fukc up about it already.

Why shut up about it?? Was there not a bunch of great times at the gigs? Why not talk about the good times? There are a hand full of people trying to pull power from the gig due to it IS a good thing for the 4x4 world. There has been for years and still a group of hard working people putting there own time into this event to promote 4x4ing. Did all of you forget what this was about?? FRIENDS GATHERING WITH FRIENDS TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND SUPPORT OUR SPORT AND THE COMMUNITY.

This is all I have to say on the matter. Marv and I will still be a part of the Gig to help it come off as a great event for friends to gather and show support. Along with having other smaller events here on our property.

It shames me to see how this thread has gone.

I'm just sad that it didn't support the sport on a local/regional level.

Because there is a heavy impression of "tooting one's own horn" in this thread due to the fact that Marv himself made the announcement and not Swamp Stompers as a whole. I've never attended a Pig Gig, so from the uninvolved 3rd-party perspective, it just looks like a "you can't play here anymore" kind of announcement and that's what is attracting the .

Marv, it's great that the "Community" got some support by donating to a choosen charity.

I think it's the supporting the sport on a local/regional level that Jim is talking about.

Kind of a slap in the face to GLFWDA when the vote skipped over them, and right to united, even though most people that took part in the public poll was looking for monies to go to GLFWDA.

Maybe someone should get rid of their grudge....

:chiefwoohaw::chiefwoohaw::chiefwoohaw:

Providing an event for the local and regional folks to come, meet, enjoy four wheeling legally, is supporting the sport.
