Default Sno*Drift Rally 1/25 & 1/26

If you're looking for something to do this weekend head up to Lewiston &/or Atlanta for the Sno*Drift Rally. Don't be afraid to volunteer, they can always use workers.

stage 15 was closed due to spectators, but the spectators weren't any better on 17, that they still ran.

Problem is it can be very hit or miss.

One year is was basically mud, then next it was total ice. That year it was so slick, no one could go fast at all, even the top cars weren't really that fun since the spectator sections were all 90* curves that they had to slow down so much for. Plus, its about 1 hour per stage, so you go stand for an hour waiting for them to come, stand another hour to watch, wait another hour or so, then stand another hour+ for them to go by and have the safety sweep go by. So its like 4 hours of standing in the cold, not much room to even move around/do anything to keep warm.

I agree, working the rally is much more fun. I worked last years Sno*drift, missed out this year because of a wedding. Last year a couple yahoo foreigners drove their cars down the snowmobile trails to try and get into the stage past the spectator point. Had more trouble with drunk people walking through the woods, than with the snowmobilers.

LSPR gets stages closed do to specators often too, why do some insist on being asses and thinking rules don't apply to them. 5 people can ruin a rally for all the fans that traveled, from the area, state, country, and around the world. Not to mention all the drivers and racers and tech crews that spent all that time and money, then don't even get to go through a full race.

People suck

I've gone a couple times in the past. Had a blast both times. Got to meet a lot of cool people from NASIOC(Subaru board). I got to meet Mark Lovell (killed in a rally wreck a few years back) the first time I went in '02.
