The show was awesome. The races were kinda lame but everything else was a blast. Avenger was the best in freestyle by far. And the "autocross" was a riot to watch.

That was one of the weakest Monster Jams I've been too. Don't get me wrong, any monster truck show is good. But, after 20 years of making the trek downstate to see these shows(every year for the past 8) I must say this one was the biggest let down. I think only 2-3 trucks made it past 30 seconds of their freestyle without rolling or breaking. Not only was the field of trucks thin @ 12, but there was definitely a feeling that the Detroit show wasn't as important as it used to be. Used to always be this Jan. show and then the Silverdome was the last stop before World Finals, so EVERYONE was there duking it out. Now it's like they had to scrape together whom ever they could get to come.

The Silverdome will always be king. I'm sure I'm one of many who got there first taste of monster madness sitting in one of those blue seats at the 'Dome.

Wonder what ever happened to Brett Englemen and the Michigan Ice Monster?.....

I was in section 225 row 6 seats 8 and 9 with my 9 y/o nephew.

It was our first monster jam. I liked it. I think the highlight of the show was watching that black car drive around missing his RR wheel. He had that sucker gunned for 5 laps or so...

That was pretty stupid how all the trucks didn't make it in free style, they'd just stop if they broke a shock or something. Avenger was the best but wasn't really spectacular. I hear ya about the Michigan Ice Monster I have a ton of monster truck videos my parents bought me when I was five. Gotta love old school with actual steel and glass, not that fiberglass shit. I'll post some pics when my friend gets em off his camera.
