Lines are Illegal though the DNR around that area is fine with you wheeling on them. as long as you're being responsible.. (spoken right from a DNR officer)

Even still rob better to stick to the seasonal roads...

Yea I was parked out there Sunday night after I got back into town. Thanks for the comments on the rig..as for the tow hooks those come from my dads shop, he used to own an excavation business and those type of hooks are what we used to pull out stuck equipment around the job site such as scrapers, bulldozers, but they were normally attached to the end of a 10 foot piece of 1"+ wire cable....so i figured if they can handle that then they should be good to go on my jeep....so when are we going wheeling?...im sorta gettin the itch but I want to wait for the snow to come off (im a snowmobiler too).

If you're still talking about the Hungerford Lake area...IF the DNR officer you "quoted" is okay with people running the lines, it's probably because it's Forest Service land, not DNR. If Forest Service enforcement catches you riding illegally, they won't care if Officer So and So with the DNR said it's illegal but ok if you're being responsible.

haha I have got that question a few times and I am b/c its all I got that can make it through the winter. Also I finally broke and am driving it b/c it is scheduled for a full resto come spring when I get the trans swap done on my 71 stang or when the Gladiator is finished whichever happens first haha. and I do feel bad driving it esp. with all the salt.

I'm up here to for a little longer, looking for a place in GR. I'm usually free on weekends if I don't have to work.

Or if someone needs some help getting something fixed or unstuck let me know.

The only time I have enjoyed the power lines is when most people can't make it out there or the seasonal roads when there is over a foot of snow. Ended up snapping a front shaft. The only days like that are lucky if once a year.

Yeah me and 7 trucks went out that thursday we had off and ill tell you what took 3 hours to go 5 miles! we were the first ones to go down the lines that day. I had the only rig that could really make it with no problems! We started with 7 trucks 5 droped out and me and my buddy with a pretty much stock ranger went from 19mile to the seasonal road. The reason it took so long is because when my buddy got stuck i had to get behind him to pull him out! if i were to go alone i could make it in a 1/4 of the time!

Got a phone call this afternoon from my buddy and he said they went out there saturday night and had a bonfire...total of 4 vehicles, all stock...bad idea. 3 made it home fine and a chevy 1500 burnt up his clutch in his tranny so they left it out there last night and today they asked me if I could go out there to pull him out so me and some of my buddies pile in my jeep head out there and about 3/4 of they way to the lines from the Hungerford side theres an H2 sittin on the side of the trail that ran out of gas and he said his buddy with a red f150 was coming back so we left and pulled the chevy out and instead of going back out the Hungerford way we decided to try going out the other way on the seasonal road and all would have been fine if we wouldnt have found that f-150 stuck at the top of the hill where the trail T's off (the way we needed to go of course)...needless to say even with another vehicle hooked up to the front of me we couldnt get it going again because of the incline so its sitting right there...ohh by the way did i mention he had a snowmobile trailer hooked to the back of his truck too???? He said he didnt want to leave it out there so we said whatever a just hammered down....Honestly though, what are people thinking when they do shit like this...ohh lets haul a snowmobile trailer out to the lines with pallets on it for a bonfire...ok...well I just burnt my clutch out from ramming on the damn thing so hard for so long...f-it. Lets have a bonfire and get hammered and worry about it tommrow...jeeze people need to think!!!
