Default Private property parking lot

I had my truck parked at my work, on their private property lot, when it was hit twice on the passenger side, 2k in damage. The tapes I guess dont show if the person who pulled in hit me. If they cant find out who did it, will my work have to pay for the repairs? Id prefer a real answer over an opinion since im seriously pissed and considering takin someone to court.

Your company is not responsible. Unfortunately you're gonna have to take it from The Man.

X3 Auto insurance is the only hope. I'm guessing you have PL&PD=SOL.

The only time I've seen the company pay is if the lot was a gated parking garage or manned lot with some type of valet.

no such thing as a "real answer" vs. an opinion. it's all opinion, and very rarely can one make a blanket statement and have it universally applied.

yeah, it sucks having property damaged. that being said, let it go. relax. you'll live longer.

everything of this world fades away. everything. even the great pyramid of giza is not what it once was. try not to get so attached to things that ultimately don't matter

You are asking the wrong people. Ask your insurance company and your employer.

DAK- If you were having a party at your house, I parked in your drive, and some asshat hit my truck and caused damage, would you be responsible for the damages to my truck and have to pay me?

Back when I used to work at a power sports dealer, my Jeep was hit twice. Both times the owner of the dealership paid for it. First time some idiot test drove a scooter. He went in a straight line from the showroom door to the back of my Jeep. Second, one of the mechanics was drinking after work and drove an ATV into my Jeep. After he hit my Jeep he kept on going and flipped on a car in the back of the lot.

Been there done that! Unless you have a plate # you are not going to get much out of it. I did in my case and fortuneatly my insurance covered it under PL/PD rather than collision. Only because they had the same insurance company I did.

Officer told me they dont noramlly file reports for private property accidents.

Anything you get will be to the property owners descression.

Yep, I had a woman back into the side of me in a 7 eleven parking lot. Cops wouldn't come out because it was private property. I think your gonna have to pay for it or use your insurance. But your employer is not at fault, the person at fault is the one that hit your car and you don't know who that is! Good luck, better call your insurance company!

That's interesting about the 7 eleven deal. How can they not file a report for an accident? So if I kill someone in a 7 eleven parking lot it is ok cause it is private property?

Anyway, if you know who did it and have their insurance information, their insurance has to pay for it as well as provide a rental car for you. (Only if the vehicle is parked) You can also choose where you take it for repairs.

I was leaving the lot after getting gas and the lady backed out of a parking spot square into the side of my truck! I called the cops and they said to get her insurance info and have a nice day! Then the bitch wouldn't give it to me so I had to call them again, they talked to her and she gave it to me. Her insurance paid for the repairs, super easy since she was using the same company. Killing someone is totally different, they just don't want to waste time for a simple no injury accident on private property. If it was a hit and run, like the case here they will usually come and make a report for your insurance company.
