Default Final Disicion: My New Duramax *pics*

After a tight near 50/50 vote between the 99-02 Cummins and 01-03 Duramax, I decided to go with the Duramax.

Reason for choices the Duramax:
1. Interior
2. Allison Auto Transmission
3. Nicer body style (personal preference)
4. Quiter Diesel

For more on the debate between the two trucks:
http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=71818

I picked up an 01' GMC Sierra 2500 from a dealer near Grand Rapids. The truck is fully loaded and has 179k on it. I purchased the truck for $13k, about 2k below Kbb private party value. Drives great, runs great, appears to be previously owned by an older man.

Nice to finally have my newer truck and I can now tow in peace!

Nice truck Brian, I like the front end of GMC better than Chevy. Man that driver seat looks rough. Way worse than my '99...then again your truck has 50k more miles. Anyway good choice and good looking truck.

Looks about the same as my 99 was with only 5-10k more miles.

Truck itself looks nice and clean brian, nice purchase

From the looks of that seat, it was a VERY FAT old man

Truck looks sweet, I like the running boards.

looks better. I don't mind running boards...but not body colored matching ones. Black ones look better. But then agian I have small kids and need running boards on my trucks.

http://www.turnoverball.com/turnover.asp#

If you need a gooseneck style hitch for it, this is the winner by far. It is what I have in the Dodge. The beauty is no rails in the bed, is fairly simple to install, and is extremely simple to flip the ball over and have a full bed with no obstructions.

Add a set of the Firestone Ride-Rite air bags on the back. You will appreciate the comfier ride while towing and the ability to level the truck/trailer.

Nice looking truck. Hope it lives another 300k miles for you.

It already has some Air bag helpers in the rear. I am going to just go with my bumper pull for now, not really looking to haul a gooseneck just yet.

Looks good Brian. I agree, I like the GMC front over the Chevy.

I'm sure the seat is much much happier not being killed by the new owner

Axing the running boards took the old man look right out of that truck!!

Just an FYI those tires suck. They are great in warmer climates but not for snow and ice.
