Default Ikea

I donít get it. It just looks like a store that sells furniture you have to put together. The news coverage is wall to wall. Is it just an IKEA thing and I donít understand?

I heard that there were people camping out there since Sunday before the opening WTF! Were the giving away free stuff or what. The guy I work with (who lives in Ferndale) loves that place.

I could understand camping out for a week for the grand opening of a new Déjà vu or Hooters. But a furniture store?

WRIF (Drew and Mike) were offering people $100 to get out line and most people didn’t take it. I think the first 100 people got a $70 chair and some pillows. Probably safe to assume that the people in line the last couple of days waiting for this store to open were not missed by anybody.

the traffic due to that place really really really sucked today. I do not understand do those people in line not have jobs? If they had to wait that long in an unemployment line or welfare line they would have bitched like no other. The things retarted people do for free stuff is mind boggling.

The chair isn't free either. The person has to purchase the $30 pad for the chair to get the chair "free".

We have shopped at the IKEA in Virginia (Near DC)

The products were originally designed for people with minimal floor space, such as European homes. Everything is portable, from one dwelling to another. YOu can almost completely equip a home through them. Cabinets, refridgerators, cupboards, counters. Furniture for every room in the house. Plenty of other things to fill the cabinets, use on the tables, organize belongings.

It is a Swedish concept and a Swedish company.

In our opinion: Decent product at good prices. Interesteing concepts. Good lunches. Great Cinnamon buns.

Do I like everything they have to offer? No. But there is plenty there that I could find a use for.

We had planned on going there today, but there is no way we will deal with the crowds. We don't like the store THAT much. We will wait for a better time.

I lived near the one in Connecticut...went there after a few months so all the nut-job line-sleepers were out of the way...pretty much crap, but it is cheap...good for dorms and first apartments, I guess...if you had high expectations, you'ld be disappointed.
