In Guadalajara, the nice restaurants that we go to all have Roasted Baby Goat on the menu. I never got it, as its pretty much a little goat on a platter. Must be a mexican thing.. where's Nena-J?

Los Galanes also had menudo just like mama used to make it. Or so I'm told, cause I'm not going there.

It's the Mexicantown favorite of all my Mexican friends (I like Mexican Town or Xochimilcho).

Here!!! Here!! And yep, goat or "cabrito" it is a typical dish in the North part of Mexico. It's pretty good I must say. You can fix it in a stew or any dish that you can imagine, but the most common it's roasted. And I agree with you JEEPR, tongue tacos are soooo good. Funny thing it's that I've never EVER tried them when I still was in Mexico. I had to come here to eat them!

I don't believe I've ever been disappointed from a goat meal in the US or abroad. In the US usually it's the true ethnic places that serve it and know how to prepare it without it being like beef jerky.

If you have the ambition, try some other ethnic goat dishes. If you like the roasted Mexican version, chances are you'll like the Pakistani goat curry and Jamacian jerk goat. The Greeks have some excellent dishes, but they're not as spicy as the others. The only form of goat meat I don't recommend is bacon. It doesn't translate so well.

If you seriously like goat and you ever have the opportunity, try camel. Seriously.

A friend of mine was raising goats just for the meat. I have had it there and it was very good I thought. Tender enough to cut it with a fork. BTM.
