I'm thinking about checking this out, don't know if this is a good deal or not?

Seems like a good price to me. Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds good for $800. Too bad it doesn't say if it runs and drives, and the picture is decent but obviously it doesn't get all the details. Either way it looks like a deal.

Check for frame rot under the cab before you buy.

Its a pretty good price if its running and fairly solid. Get some more details if I were you. Are you aware of what axle combo it should have and what not?

I know the same details you do, just from the add.

Is there anything else that I should check for other then rot under the cab?

I know nothing about these things!!

So your saying that's not a good deal?

What if it runs and drives then would it be?

At least I know where I can get parts if I buy it!!

I still say this is calling your name stronger, they finally updated the listing to be more accurate.

Its not the mechanicals that you should be worried about. Its everything else that will be the problem. If you want something like that, I would look for a significantly younger J-truck and just change the grille.

Got ya, there are some newer ones out here. I just gotta keep my eye open for them. Don't really need a J4000 either. Isn't that a 1 ton? Definitely like the older grille better!

You don't need a roof for that, Snowpants, jacket, and turtle fur go a long way, lotta fun too around town :tonka: Cool factor is much more too. Put in a 4BT, SM465, and whatever t-case and go play with ok mileage around town, shit run it on veggies

Or puss out and make your own roof out of canvas :tonka:

That and I just like weird shit, and if you stay out there I may have to join you for a few days at the ski hill

Flatty earlier this week out playing with the new camera :tonka:

Pics look like a damn ghost town!!!

I don't have my nice heated garage out here so buying something that don't at least run just don't make sense right now. It would be cool. I can go get it for you and ship it back!

Redi-heater and kerosene, it's how the flatty got built. You lost wrench time on the Commando when you had to sell it now you have to make up for it :tonka:

Your wife will kill me :tonka:

4000 is a 3/4 ton and I think they had 60's with 5 lugs in the read. Assume 44 in front.

The vast majority of J-4000's had Dana 44's front & rear. You can tell if it should have a D60-2 from the VIN.
