Default D-Rings...

any of you ever have a problem w/ your D rings getting stolen? I just installed new bumpers and am a little leary about leaving all 4 of my d rings out.. wouldn't take much to steal them.. and it wouldn't take much to leave them in the Jeep till I go off road..

any comments?

Don't leave them on the bumper. They will either get stolen, or get rusted and you won't be able to get them off when you need them. They also can be noisy and chip your bumper paint. The only time I would leave one on the bumper is if it was being used as a hookup to keep your winch cable taut.

I keep 3 of mine on my Jeep just because, but they've never been stolen. There's really no reason to keep them on though. I just put them on when I'm about to go wheeling or pull people out of the snow, just easier to not have to carry them with the strap.

Again, west side. We wheel over here and they come off once in a while.

Have had mine on for more than a year and no chips from them. Course, had them powdercoated so that may help. Had one stolen last winter along with the strap from the inside of the jeep (soft top) here at work. Course, co worker lost some tools at the same time, so think they were working on a vehicle that they needed to pull.

Up to you what you decide, I like mine on so I don't have to dig for them. Plus, zip tied the bolt so it won't back out, thus no loss.

If you used them, they would get all scratched up and might break. This way they will stay shiny and new. although, waxing them will be kind of hard.

dude depending what part of G rap your in they might steal them so they can use it to smash your window out to get the rest of your shit... agreed just keep them in your rig with your recovery gear. personally i go to the military surplus store get a heavy canvas duffel put my straps, chains and shackles in there, make it easy also to swap from rig to rig. besides leaving the shackles on is about as gay as running around with your dune flag on all summer.. so i guess if you do that. then leave the shackles in as well
