I bought a bronco without an engine in Delaware. My brother and I drove straight there and back with a trailer in a snow storm in 23 hours. That was a long trip. I still have the bronco though.

During a LA business trip, I stopped at Jeeps R Us in Laguna Beach, CA and bought a '63 CJ5. Reliable Carriers dropped it off at my door for $500.

I bought my most recent CJ7 from Denver.

yea the whole period thing is way over rated... Also forgot took same said v-10 2500 non-stop from Holland to Chassel to Holland, left at 10 in the morning with a 18' dove tail to pick up a rusted out POS mid 80's XJ got back into town I think around mid night.. more was spent on gas feeding the v-10 there and back then the XJ was worth. but priceless to see my buddy climbing through rear window to get in the bed to smoke his cig's since there was no smoking in the truck... got more then one funny stair for that move

I haven't driven too far for a car, although I did stuff a '79 Trans Am subframe in my XJ and drove it from Indiana to here. Windshield to windshield, I'm lucky I didn't get hit or anything. I had to push the front seats all the way up to get it to fit and was stuffed between the seat and steering wheel.

Bought my Chevy off the internet from Washington state, was nervous as hell till it arrived and ended up a better deal than was promised. Years ago flew out to San Diego California, bought a 56 VW beetle totally stock drove it to Phoenix AZ,picked up a 60 VW bus (the cool old split widow panel van) and towed the beetle behind the bus back to Michigan. Probably never topped 45mph the whole way.

I drove to Missouri to get a crewcab diesel truck I had. It was a fun little trip that my Dad and I did. The truck was worth the drive, I still wish I had it.

Philadelphia for my 78 Blazer on 39's. On the way there through a tollbooth the attendent didn't notice my trailer and only charged me for the truck, on the way back, well she couldn't miss the purple and yellow blazer towering over my silverado, I paid for both.

I've sold 4 cars to out of state buyers, picking 3 of them up at the airport to facilitate the closing of the deal.

I personally haven't gone more than a couple of hours to pick up a car. My wife flew to pompano beach to pick up a gift from her grandfather (a then brand new 1994 Integra GS-R)
