Which is amazing... This truck doesn't have any brakes, at all.. It is totally slowed down through resistance with gears in that giant "hump" in the driveshaft... Resistance, creates electricity, which in turn moves the engine electronically until the power is gone, then it switches back to gas... One brake from 50 mph, will get the truck back moving to 35 mph without using any energy from fuel. Also, after a brake from 50 mph, it can do a snail crawl off electricity for 20 minutes over level ground, making almost zero noise.

3 MPG? Not a big difference? He showed me the literature on how one gallon of diesel to the front lines of the war in Iraq cost around 171 dollars a gallon to get it there.

I was skeptical too..

Oh yeah, I had a crapload of fun at the Dana testing grounds today... I can't even talk about where it is.. :tonka:

Silly national security
i was gonna guess that but i just logged on and you already ruined it for me. Thanks i was going to impress everyone.

Pretty big box for a supercap.

You'd figure they might use something with more kwh/kg and less $$$/kwh with such a beefcake truck.

Good ol tax dollars at work.

After weighing the Title of this Thread against the established criteria, I would have to say that it slips by on the basis that the Title clearly states that it is useless reading and can be passed by. If it was about a Jeep, he would have said it in the Title and that would have made it worthwhile content. But, since it was put in question I'll post it anyway...
