At tip up town, the lake is an assigned parking lot

It's not illegal to drive on the ice, but your insurance is no longer valid once you leave the shore. If I remember correctly. The tickets people get are for environmental violations.

Yes. It is legal to be on the ice if the lake is not a motor free lake...which is kinda odd anyway.

The illegal part comes when it goes through. It's legal to be on the ice, but not legal to be under it. The last one I had dealings with came attached to a $2500 A DAY fine. It was in the water for 3 days.

a boat doesn't have oil, antifreeze, gear oil, trans fluid, and gasoline under water and able to leak/spill out. serious environmental hazzard.

Above chart is BS. A snowmobile with you on it exerts less psi than you walking.

Being ontop is legal being in is where you screwed up and you get fines No mater how long you were under if they know about it, that why you can drive in any water 12" or better or hub deep

And it was only like two feet of water under me but when I put it in reverse and tried to back out all the ice shifted and made me slide deeper. The cops most likely would not of done a thing except laugh at me. My truck does not leak anything at all. Also the motor wasnt under at all. So I dont know if they could of wrote me up or anything.maybe though. I will be posting some pics. Its not even bad enough to get in trouble for. But it was dark and Ic ant get the pictures for a couple days. But I WILL get them.
Cops would laugh DNR or DEQ would have wrote you a ticket

I handed the owner a hook and told him to find somthing solid to pull from. it wasn't pretty.
longer it sites more damage it can do there for fines get bigger

says Snow mobile and quads a Stock Snow mobile on a full blanket of snow would be less the a human BUT they are talking (lawyers) that when on Ice with out snow on a Sled with trail studs or ice picks and blades put out way more PSI on them thin little points and sharp edges on teh skies (THINK CHICK IN HIGH HEALS)then a human would ever dream about, and they are being safe for haveing it sit on teh ice not moveing If they stated it would be fine and it went through they would get SUED as their chart was wrong
