Default 93 Dodge Dakota Question

so i'm thinking about geting a dodge Dakota, but it has 225,XXX miles. It has a 4.3 V6 i guess, even tho i believe its like a 3.9 or w/e. But, i was wondering if anybody could tell me what the average life of one of these is if its well maintained.

It has a 3.9, unless someone swapped a Chevy engine in there. You are pretty much at the average life span- I have a buddy that has one with 280K on it, and he really didn't take care of his. Check the rear end, thay had quite a bit of trouble with them.

I had a friend with almost 300,000 before he hydrolocked his 3.9 that was a 5speed truck. I think the auto trans they put in those was a 42rh and they aren't any to strong, I wouldn't plan on towing with it much. I'm on my 3rd rear axle under my 96 dakota with 125,000 miles on it. I'm guessing the one your looking at will have the 8.25 in the rear just like mine. I believe some came with a 9.25 rear and are much stronger(thats what mine will get when this rear end blows up). If you end up getting it I would have the trans bands adjusted because I'm pretty sure no one ever does that.
