atheist
Main Entry:

athe·ist Pronunciation: \ˈā-thē-ist\ Function: noun Date: 1551 : one who believes that there is no deity
my emphasis added. Note, the literal definition of the word does not preclude belief in any specific diety, nor the rejection of false gods. Simply "no deity".

no, atheism is a lack of belief of a religion. in my original post, i was using the term atheist on a "god to god" basis.

As much as I trust your awesome worldly knowlege.................I'm going to need proof. What do you have to back this statement up (that atheism is not a religion) Statements? Documentation? The Davinci Code?

Seriously, help me out here.

Not that I care if you care what people think about you, but I am making a statement that you are a douche bag. Everyone sees the word douche bag as mike sova, and mike sova as douchebag. I think those people are correct, but then again since you don't believe it it must not be true.

atheism, let's break it down. "a" meaning no or not, "theism" meaning religion or religious.

Atheists are often called Non-theists as well.

Okay, I will except your dictionary discription.
How about Agnostism?

I am not mocking your belief, as you are me. I was stating a fact. I believe it is a negative/bad belief system and I recognize others belief systems. What it comes down to is that your right to freedom of speech is much less passionatly expressed than any clerics religous zeal. Athiesm is your belief in NOTHING, and I as an american suport your freedom of speech; as a christian I denonce your message.

Just looked up Atheism and this is what it said

2. disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.
And then Agnostic

ag·nos·tic /ægˈnɒstɪk/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ag-nos-tik] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.
2. a person who denies or doubts the possibility of ultimate knowledge in some area of study.
–adjective
3. of or pertaining to agnostics or agnosticism.
4. asserting the uncertainty of all claims to knowledge.
Atheism is the lack of belief in God/gods. While your statement is close to truth....It's not. Although, for a minute I thought you actually looked that up, But, once again, you just tried to make it sound smart. Religion is tied to God, but there are plenty of people that have no believe in a religion but believe there is a God...Better known as Agnostic. I would guess that most people on this board are agnostic. If you want to have these "awesome" Theological Debates you might as well not pull things out of your pooper.

Agreed.
wrong, agnostics don't believe or dis-believe in god. they believe there is a possibility of a higher power, not unnecessarily the Christian god, but the overall idea of agnosticism is the belief that we cannot know one way or the other. I personally identify with agnosticism.

I'm not just talking about what you say just in this thread. You call people out, call them names, and tell people that their thoughts/beliefs are stupid. That is why I think you're a major tool.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you. Apparently in your eyes, many other people's opinions are wrong. I just find it hypocritical and a pretty douchebag move. I'm not saying you're the only one who does this, but you serve no other purpose on this message board but posting dumb stupid inflammatory shit in the political forum.

You don't say nice things to anyone or help out in the tech forum. It's like your only use for this site is to ask advice every once in a while, and fap while squatting in the political forum. People are nice enough to give you advice. If you don't need a question answered by other people, they pretty much don't serve any use to you besides being a group of people for you to piss off and annoy.
