22RE Swap

I pulled 22RE from my old 87 P'up are there going to be any issues when I go to drop it into latest 85 4Runner. Wiring harness, sensors?

Did you pull the dash harness, too? You'll need it. You'll also need an O2 sensor in the exhaust. Otherwise the major issue is probably a correct fuel pump and lines. I'm supposed to be doing this swap later this winter...

I may have a spare in-dash harness if you need it.

I saved all of the wiring from the 87. The o2 sensor is in the same place on both engines.

R u swapping out a 22re 4 a 22re or 22r 4 a 22re?

If swapping re 4 re it should be pretty easy. Dont think they change the injector plugs in that time frame or really any of the harness connectors.

When i did my 85 re into my 92 i had to switch to the 92 injectors and a few sensors cuz they were different stlye connectors. I ended up just putting the 92 intake system on the 85 block and no real problems just a check engine light.

If your swapping to efi from carb i think all you have to do is put in a efi fuel pump in. Pretty sure they use the same lines that the higher psi efi system used so you should be good there. Should just be a matter of swapping the harness over and putting the efi intake set up on whatever 22 motor you use.

Think that covers most of it
