How strong is this air compressor? Right now I have have a craftsman somewhat smaller then this one and it wont even get enough to turn a lug nut off on my truck it is basically a $200 tire inflater. I'd like to get one that I can do simple automotive work with.

I've used an air hammer w/ it to get steering off as well as impact on lugs. It works, it's not a brute, but does fine for what it is. It's perfet for a home garage...i'd keep it but i'm broke for xmas...

I have a similar model that's 15 years old. I have painted three cars with it, built many trans, diffs, engines ect. my only complaint is that they are really loud.

Sounds like its a good compressor then, I know what you mean my craftsman is also loud compared to bigger and nicer compressors. Man, couple beers and a loud stereo never hurt I see your a fellow disciple of SLAYER! As far as your compressor goes I'll let you know, I know how things are these days with money.
