Default 4 Link Info Needed

I want to start working on designing a 4 link. I have a pretty good idea of how I am going to do it, but I am just wondering if anyone knows and any good websies or literature to read up on?

I have been googling quite a bit and I have read everyhting i can fine, but I am looking for something that really goes into basic things to keep in mind I think

pirate4x4.com is your friend. SEARCH do not ask questions. You will get lit up. everything you need to know or could ever want to know has been covered four hundred times. It is a very, very valuable resourse. There are only a few books on the subject and they are geared toward either drag racing or road racing. Most in the books would not apply to anything with more than a few inches travel. good luck

read until your eyes bleed and then if you dont understand something that is not in the fundamentals then ask here if you cant find the answer over there.

i would be leary of old threads on pirate also.... there was a time when what really works and what "works" was not very well defined. in the last 2 years or so it has been narrowed down to some pretty straight forward guidlines.

antisquat- 0 to just over 100 depending on preferance
roll axis- as high and flat as possible
instant center- absolutely no further rearward than the sprung COG
vertical frame separation- not more than the axle end but more than ~4"

im sure theres a ton im forgetting.......

all bets are off for the fronts, you have to understand the rear 100% before even thinking about the front.

thanks for the help guys

A friend of mine has done 4 now using an article that he found in one of the four wheel magazines, said he has had good luck with it. That's where i started reading. But there is definately a lot more I have to do because I still have a pile of questions that i need to answer before trying to dive in.

I will post a project thread no doubt up on here when I start. But for now it is all in the planning I think
