Default ZF parking bake assymbly

Anyone know of a place to pick one of these up at?

They are going for $1800 at the stealership. I've found on down in florida for $800 with $100 shipping.

Any leads would be greatly appricated!

Do you mean a parking brake that bolts on to a ZF manual trans?

do you want the pinion break? They're only found on F450-550 applications. Try some heavy equipment junkyards

Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it's the parking brake that bolts to the back of a Ford ZF manual trans

Yes, from 1988 to 2002 I believe. I need one from a 93 and newer that has an electronic speedometer.

any F250 and F350 99 and later came with a ZF6... I don't know if they shared the same housing or tailhousing... I'm even questioning that a F250 or F350 came with a pinion/tailhousing brake... maybe on the cab @ chassis models or something, but I doubt it.

In any case, you'de have better luck looking a heavy equipment yard... there are a few around.

your not extremely specific, but I'm gussing what your looking for is for the 87-97 F-superduty's. They bolt onto the back of a 4wd tranny.

Yup, they bolt to the back of both ZF5 and ZF6. They came on F250 F350 F450 F550

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29

It's $150 shipping for that guy. What is a heavy equipment yard? How would I search for one?

Thanks bones!

How am I not being specific? I need the parking brake assymbly that connects on the back of a ZF5 transmission. To be safe it would be from 1994-1995 model for the ZF5 but the later model ZF6 one can be adapted. The 1988 - 1993 model won't work because of the mechanical speedometer input, I have an electric speedo so mine doesn't have the hole that the mech speedo would go in. And it's for the 2WD ZF5

Sounds like you need this parking brake so your speedo will work?

Oh, Okay, gotcha

I don't know. I'm going down to my trans guy, Jerry's Trans in milford OH, just incase you ever need one down there :tonka:

And talk about how to eliminate it. I have an electric speedo so the speedo will work with out it. Maybe we can just get rid of it all together. If not it looks like it's another $800 added to the job :)

but such is life

YAY, found one that was a year old for $250 . . . .

The guys said I'll be in a big black and orange truck at the meeting place. He wasn't lying.

Edit: make that $175

Most Ford trucks have the VSS in the rear axle, If you have a non-ABS axle, you could always swap it out, might be cheaper. I have a Sterling 10.25 w/ABS in my backyard.

VSS - vehicle speed sensor
ABS - Anti-locke brakes

Sterling 10.25- really really heavy full float ford axle with ABS

I'm pretty sure I have the sterling 10.25 with the VSS and I know ABS. That's why I needed a newer brake. I didn't know what the VSS meant but I knew the speedo had something to do with the rear axle. thanks for clearing it up
