Default CJ7 Front Drive Shaft

I'm looking for a front drive shaft for my 79 CJ7. It has a 258 Dana 300 with a TF999 Tranny. The collapsed length I need is 34 1/2"

I have an '85 Scrambler (link in sig) with a 258/TF-999/D300. I'm currently intalling a SD-33 diesel w/TF-727 trans, and I'm fairly certain I'll need a longer front driveshaft. I'll take a couple measurements within the next couple days. Slip joint & U-joints seem to be tight (97K miles on the vehicle, BTW).

I'd sell the front DS for $25 + shipping. Let me know if you're interested, and I can verify measurements.

Sounds good, let me know what size you may need I do have one out of a 93 YJ 4cyl. can't remember the T-case. But the shaft is about 38" long? It has brand new U-joints as well. The YJ was never off-roaded, it was completely stock.

If Craig's won't work, I can also hook you up.

BTW: That is a weird drivetrain combo for a 79 isn't i? Was it swapped in or was it early for its time? I thought Dana 300's started in 1980.

Rudy, Thanks I'll keep you in mind if one doesn't pop up closer? The 79 came with a Dana 20 and a T-150.

That is why we measure em... I have the same configuration in an 86 CJ7. 999 w/ 300. It is 34.5 installed length. You must have a lift right?

The next closest thing I have is a rear I had to have made for one of my Scramblers. Not a real big tube but it is bigger. Measures 35" and has new u-joints and like new splines. I bet I paid $150 for it.

Normally I can sell for $40 shipped but this one I'd want $80 shipped. It is the front one

Sorry if I got your hopes up.. I just knew I had the same set up as you.

The one I need is 34.5" installed length. Is that one available, if so how much? Do you have a Paypal account?

Stock front driveshaft length for this driveline is:
Collapsed = 33"
Extended = 35"
Let me know if that would work for you.

Let me get it boxed up this weekend, and I'll get you a shipping amount by Sunday at the latest. I do have a PayPal account. I'll get you that info after getting a shipping amount.
