Default A GM employee just called me

I just got a call from Tony in Shrevport LA . He works on the assembly line for the H3 . Line workers are asked to call H3 owners and get there honest oppinion of what they bought . Now the funny thing is when i chewed his ass a bit about some issues it has had and i thought GM were idiots to test this thing and send it out with problems he fully agreed with me

When i ask a couple techincal questions regarding the encoder motor and so on he says , um just a minute . I could hear him ask some so called smart person whats up with this ? then he got back with me to answer my questions . Over all i thought the whole damn call was pretty cool and informative as well .

I did tell him i had bought a 2002 Jeep and it NEVER went back for problems . GM needed to get to them standards . His reply was " I know thats why im calling folks like you to find out what the real problems are "

I Mentioned the V8 coming out in 2008 , he laughed and said . If you ask me about that im suppose to say i dont know any thing about it but seems you know we can talk about it and he did . They actaully tried a side ways application of the V 8 . He said he didnt care for it

The number comes back as unknown or we could keep him off the assembly line all day :gman:

Yeah because I'm sure that phone he was calling from was right there on the assembly line.

Anyway, I'm going to wait for the V8 version to come out just so i can say my H3 is better than the :gman: H3

He was clear he was up at an office to make the call and had engineer or two there to answer any tech question i had . I personally think it is a smart move by GM to do this type of thing . I had heard of this but never thought id get a call from some one . He was clearly a LA hill billy

We talked for well over 1/2 hour . I found the guy to be pretty much a red neck ole hick like me .

Oh by the way mschaffer , i did tell him what i thought of GM making yet another piece of shit diesel called the duramax . I told him it was just bad busness for GM to know full well theres an injector problem but say nothing about it . less then 100,000 miles they fix it , if it bits you after 100,00 you eat when they know full well its a problem . I was really surprised that he did not take a " defend GM " postion on such things .:gman:

DCX has the same issue on the injectors in their 3rd Gen CTD's. The replacement injectors have been on back order a lot lately. Between the injectors and bad ball joints, they don't seem to have nearly the amount of problems that GM has with the Duramax though. Of course, it is only because DCX was smart enough to buy the Cummins. That leaves a lot less for DCX to screw up in house.

Tony in Shrevport LA
Most folks from Leuoooosiana that I know take 1/2 just to tell you about the weather. They certainly don't get in a hurry.
Especially using someone else's phone.

Thats the EPA's fault. Though i have only slightly more love for GM than the government, your anger is misdirected at the old general this time.

DCX does the same thing, not sure about all product lines though. Definently with minivans though, but they have the engineers call instead, my father says it's time consuming but also one of the best ways that they actually hear consumer thoughts on the product first hand.

Actually all of the big 3 diesels have problems...you just need to talk to some people that aren't biased or think that the allmighty Cummins is flawless.

You think im biaised ?

The Ford 7.3 power storke built by IHC was the best of the best in pickup diesel power . Cummins is right in there too .

The newer cummins is having problems like never before . the Ford 6.0L is junk compared to the 7.3

Gm has NEVER built had a good diesel . deal with the facts you screwed up buying that junk

I've heard that the IHC ford has some serious wiring harness problems and a few other small issues......never heard anyone have problems with the duramax, which GM doesnt make its an isuzu engine isnt it ?

Duramax has a load of problems too . Injectors failing is one of the beggest . The allison trans is not a ture allison thats a sales gimick for a thinned out piece of junk .

yet again GM put aluminum heads on a cast block , that has been an issue . Izusu built it but Gm had a little to much input wich didnt help . Also Izusu has built some pretty damn good inline diesel motos but had no clue on a V 8 design .

Im not anti GM , hell i just bought an H3 , iv owned several silverados which were excellent trucks but facts are what they are .:gman:
