Who made the spacers? I will be getting some if 3/8 spacers don't do the trick first, i rub my control arms a little.

Also i saw you have a HD tie rod from jeepers creepers, do you have a plan to upgrade the steering in any other kind of way? Because I have bent the stock tie rod, sleeved one with some dom and then bent the drag link like a twig shortly after. The stock set-up has also caused me a lot of trouble. SOon will be replacing it with an OTK 1-ton set-up from JCR, can't wait

More mocking up of the cage. Don't mind the stripper pole on the right, it's just there to hold crap up while I got it to fit.

Got the armor plating welded onto the gas tank skid.

I'm not looking forward to dealing with all this crap.....

Something that one of the Drafting/Welding students made, so I bought it from him.

Tim, is that roll cage going together easy, or is it a pain? Do they make one for Grands?

The cage is needing some minor tweeks to make it line up....little trimming on the ends and stuff like evening out the angles. But I would rather it be that way so I can get it how I want.

I think the overhead speader bars over the front seats are a bit too long though. It pushes the middle bar back a bit further than I think I want it. Just by an inch or two though.

And yes, they make a Grand Cherokee kit. Costs a little more than the kit I got but it looks like there is more to it also.

Mine doesn't have some of the features like grab handles and some other things but we'll be adding some extras like custom gussets and what not.

Oh Snap...I've seen that cage before. I actually saved a couple of pics on my PC of it. I guess I just didn't realize it was the same company you bought yours from. My bad.

Don't order when you are in a rush. Took over 3 weeks to get mine. At least they didn't charge my credit card till it shipped.

So does this cage tie into the uni-structure or just into the "floor" metal??? I haven't looked at a cage in a Cherokee that close. Looks like it will be a capable rig and decent looking rig to boot. Keep up the cool work. BTM

It's plated through the floor and then ties into both the frame stiffeners and the rock sliders.

Ok Mike, had to go out to the store to get some milk so I swung over to the shop and snapped a couple of pics to show you what I mean about the cage.

Front hoop....close to dash but vents still work.

Glovebox....well....:tonka:

Driver's side...the light switch misses the bar by about how thick your finger is.

Here is the middle hoop. If it goes straight up and down, it is too far into the door opening. I still don't like how far it extends into the opening at the top.

but this is how it sits with a seat there, so I guess that's where it has to be.

I am going to have to shorten up the back stringers because I want this hoop closer to the rear seat.

If I don't move the rear hoop forward, then the kickers won't fit right.

does the cage constrict the movement of the front seats a lot? ie: sliding backward fully/being able to tilt the seat back?

The seat is slid all the way back in the pic, and it's adjusted for me there. The seat will not lay all the way back.
