Planing early, are we?

Are you looking for off road/outdoor themed charities?

If not, the Karmanos Cancer Institute has my vote.

We chose the charities that we supported last Gig by a vote of the club. UFWDA was chosen due to the fact they have helped out here in MI with off road concerns and the fact that they are working on the national level as well in support of our sport.

This thread however is for us to get serious ideas for this years charity or charities. We will then take the ones that get the most suggestions and put it up to a poll. Please keep the thread going in that direction, serious ideas for charities for the upcoming event.

So far, there are some great suggestions, ones I can honestly say, I didn't think of, but like the thought of. Thanks for all the comments so far, please keep them coming.

American Red Cross, the Disaster Releif portion, with the money designated to help with Michigan Families that are victims of house fires.

And we could have them come out and get blood from everyone. Before we start drinking. :tonka:

I think that's a great idea- Give Blood- I know some people are skeered of needles, so maybe a discount in admission if you donate?

Hmmm Non-profit, helps us... GLFWDA. Great fundraiser that will help out the sport in Michigan, and if they succeed in getting trails reopened could help the economy in a small way. Is it kind of selfish because your not giving it to the 'kids and dying people' maybe, but GLFWDA is crippled without major cash flow. I see what my work does with fundraisers for what they do, and they make enough to put a lobbyist in Lansing.

I think people think of GLFWDA as a club and NOT a non-profit that works towards the good of wheeling in MI, and that cripples it a little.

If not them then put it toward cancer research.

Some good suggestions so far, keep them coming please. Agree that Kids are great but so is supporting our sport, nothing says we can't do both.
