I have a new Mini starter for AMC V8's and Inline 6's. Hitachi style AMC/Jeep starter for 290-401 engines 1972-82, and 6 Cylinder with 232 or 258, 1972-87. Starter feature Billet Aluminum Mounting Plate, 3:75-1 gear reduction, and weighs only 10.5 lbs. Recommended for engines under 12.5:1 compression. Located in Oxford. Asking $140

Sincerely,
Greg Taylor :) <><

I checked with a starter place and this starter will fit all AMC V8's and AMC I6's including later 1980's models.

Sincerely,
Greg Taylor :) <><

Watch out for some of the later years. They changed the flywheel/flexplate when Chryo took over. The later Grand Wags use a mitsubishi setup that is not compatible. The 4.0Ls also use a different starter setup that is not compatible.

Thanks for the heads-up on the 1989 and newer Chrysler Jeeps not being a fit for the starter.

Sincerely,
Greg Taylor :) <><

ADDED INFO: I checked the flex plate crossover on www.partsamerica.com and the 1988-91 Grand Wagoneers and 1988 J-10 & J-20 trucks use a different flexplate than the 1987 and earlier Jeeps. So, this should fit up through 1987. - Greg <><
