not that I would, but one could simply state that we just aren't sophisticated enough to disprove every scientific proof :)

I obviously also do not have all of the answers. Scientific, or faith. I personally am heading down that faith path (again) - it has been a bumpy, curvy road, that has included a number of turn around and start overs. a few u-turns along the way.

I've had just enough statistical experience (having done stats for 17 years for work) that for my feeble mind, the statistical probability that we're all here simply by chance is just as likely as the verses of the bible being true.

I sat here for a few minutes thinking of how I'm going to hang myself with this one. My gut feeling tells me that Truth is what was once an opinion that was validated by facts.

Touche. As man expanding its knowledge base some truthes change. Example would be on how the earth is relative to the sun or some shit like that. Our math knowledge may change and maybe 2+2 wont = 4. Given a constant state of our knowledge the known science facts will stay the same. Same goes for physics.

Discovery. Science has been having discovery for how long on a daily basis? Kinda puts bad thoughts in my head about religion due to its utter lack of expansion on its knowledge base.

No one does. Thats the problem. Some people believe that certain other people do..... /trolling

I've been up down, back left. to the right and left. The more mind power I put to it, the more questions I end up with then going into it.

Here is one observation I have made about "SOME" not all people who say they are very religious. They are the ones with road rage cursing at you after they get out of church, yelling at their kids in the store, making comments that are not very nice about other people.

For example I am talking with someone who is upset that the neighbors doge is dropping loads on their lawn. This person paid a lot of money to have a nice lawn. But I sit and listen, and they are going on and on about how they want to amost hit the dog to scare the owner cause they hate the dog so much. And this person claims to be a person of God.

I wanted to point out to them how vein their worries were, and isn't it a sin to be vein with your desires???

I keep my faith and my religion to myself. I don't force it on others. And I dip into a little bit of all faiths. Of all the churches and all my education within the church we were taught that the Bible is a collection of "stories" and that is just what they are. Unless you read the Torah which I believe has never been re-written like the Bible has. And why so many versions of it?

Another person I know gave up sugar for Lent. How does that improve your relationship with Jesus? Seriously? People give up things but then go right back to them. Shouldn't you give something up that is going to improve your life and relationship with God?

Ok thats all I got. I don't claim to be overly educated on this topic but I do know enough to get by.

Now theres a good point. Why must I share my relationship with God to the rest of mankind? Why is it that mankind must tell me about God rather then God himself?

Then theres the whole seniment about a certain degree of humbility towards the subject. Its really all or nothing as it stands right now.

Now that I understand any thread with the word religion is doomed by novels worth of reading I have to know............Each night before you go to bed Deke......do you have that feeling of emptyness? Not a hunger, not a thirst, but an emptyness of fullfilment of the day or even your life? Do you find your thoughts racing in search of something more to the meaning of life? If so stop searching. By the time you are dead it will be all clear. But if you insist on figuring out mankinds mysteries please at least figure out the lochness monster.....that one really bugs me.

Naw not really. I lay down and normally to tired to do any serious thinking. I get most of my thinking done either droping the kids off at the pool or in down time round the station. Remember - I had 9 monthes in north dakota to think. Did plenty of it. Even with super religous people around me constantly I still couldnt believe.
Meaning of life? Man I dont want to upset anyone so I'll keep that opinion to myself.
I'll get on lassey for ya

Exactly. I don't get it. And some people get looked down upon b/c they don't go to church every weekend. Some people go every weekend because they feel obligated b/c they know that they were, and will be a complete butthole sometime that next week or already were, and feel that if they go to church then they will be absolved.

NO, it does not work that way! You can't be a twit, and then say sorry and keep being a twit. You gotta stop and want to change to stop being mean to ppeople.

Long and short, people suck! They do it "their" way and what works for them.
And it is all or nothing if you want to be truthful.

I am guilty in that as well. But I don't go around saying I am perfect in religion either. I have faith and a strong relationship with God and that works for me.

Now a cult, stereo typically aren't they protesting things usually and sacrificing animals and people for their beliefs???

Sorry did not read through all the past posts, some of it was way over my head. :-)

Not at all actually.

I just see the beauty of people and our behavior.

And truly I like people believe it or not,I am fascinated with how we think and act in situations. Social Psychology is a past hobby of mine.

I prefer pink lemonaid BTW, with just a little extra sugar to feed my sassy side!

I think the people doing the looking down are very insecure about their own beliefs and are hoping by pushing those beliefs onto others, somehow they justify themselves in their beliefs to the creator.

By its very words all religions/cults/etc have to be pure or not. You cant have 2+2 = 4 only 98% of the time. Just aint like that

its between you and him. As it should be. I dont go around justifying my relationship with my father to the world, why should I with the ultimate father?

Thats your personal view on what a cult is. Technicaly animal sacrifice was a part of the christian system for a long time.

Isnt all of religion over mankinds head? If it wasnt then it wouldnt be religion. It'd be a science
