Default 97 TJ Hemi build

Well, I had a thread for my jeep started on here, but now there is a new direction. My original plan was to have a stroked and blown straight 6. I had the 4.6L stroker done and running great and had the supercharger, just needed to do design and install. Ended up blowing up the motor and decided to go big or go home. Got me a hemi

Ended up picking up a 5.7 with a transmission out of a dodge magnum for $300 from a salvage yard in detroit, so its time to make a build thread and start chipping away at it.

My jeep as it sits now:

Parts list as of now (feel free to throw in tips):
$300 = HEMI - Bought
1) $500 = Dodge ram/durango auto transmission (545RFE)
2)$1,540.00 = Hot Wire Harness set and reprogram computer.
3) $54.99 = Teraflex Transmission mount.
4) $100.00 = 2005 Grand Cherokee Hemi exhaust manifold (fits perfectly between TJ frame).
5) $40.00 = 2001 TJ, or newer, instrument cluster. 97-00 instrument clusters do not work with Hemi engines.
7) $23.09 = Teraflex transfer case shifter linkage adapter.
8) $306.99 = Teraflex 5.7 Hemi motor mounts.
9) $50 = Laser cut belly up skid
10) ? = custom exhaust
11) $30 larger battery cables
12) $190 = 21 spline to 23 spline shaft conversion from Advanced Adapters
13) $400 = alluminum radiator
14) $50 = Mechanical fan from a 4.7 Liter Durango
15) jeep liberty shifter cable (auto shifter)
16) all the other 38457345 things

So most people say 7-10 grand is what you need for a hemi swap, so I'm gunna try to debunk that with my college student budget.

There's gotta be a cheaper way to do that harness, I'll get a hold of the guy I know with hp tuners and see what he knows...the only other places I see money saved would be in the radiator and making your own motor mounts

Ya I haven't done any local researching yet, so that's next. The harness wil be one of last things I will do, so I've got time to look around. And I have no idea on the radiator price, I just threw that out there.

Ya those are overpriced, I actually put the wrong ones in there, I planned to use the advanced adapters mounts that are around 250.

I debated on this as well with our laser cut acess, I wanna take a better look at the existing mount on the hemi and see if I could maybe build something off that as well.

Sounds good. It's a 5 axis water jet so they can cut chamfers too for countersunk bolts

Sweet that'll work. I'll take a deeper look into the motor mounts and see if I can design something up.
